Notes

Notes:
This was the second night of a 3 day run
for Furthur at the BEC. This show smoked
from the first song. Second set never
slowed down with heavy jamming.

I recorded DFC, OTS with wind
screens and on mic stand at 12
feet. Used the DPA4022 (windscreens)
with Grace Design V3 preamp. The sound
at the venue was louder and more
focused then the first night.

The sound of the recording is good to
very good. Crowd noise is minimal, but
there was one women who screamed almost
non stop second set right in back of
OTS. One concert attendee called her
primal screems "Furthur-gasm", I thought
that was fitting.

Performance: A+
Sound Quality: A-

I was beat very badly by local police in the parking lot and am looking for witnesses or a video to surface. I was charged with possession of marijuana, which was dismissed from court yesterday because I have a medicinal license. I have a black eye, and bruises from my thighs to my head.

Subject: Weak?
I was there and the show was Weak maybe if you are playing opposites day!...not a damn thing weak about it or the setlist! I needed a whole pail o water just to put me out after Viola Lee! thanx a lot for the recording!

Subject: Great recording, great show!
Thanks Patrick! Great recording, really captures the sound of the venue. This show did rock from start to finish. Weak setlist is in the eyes of the beholder, and I could not disagree more, but either way, they cranked out every song with passion and were TIGHT! Was much louder than Friday night and way more crowded. BTW - great recordings from the other nights too! I may be partial to Friday night as the first show of the tour, they knocked it out of the park. What a 2nd set!

Subject: weak setlist??
Doesn't look like a weak setlist to me. A first set that begins and ends with 2nd set songs and Shakedown Viola Bird Song Other One Terrapin Death Dont??? c'mon dude

Subject: Fun show, weak setlist.
I was at the show too. First off, I'm thankful these guys are still playing. Cause I'll see them anytime they are in town. I think they played well throughout, but the setlist itself seemed weak. I got more into the first set around Cold rain/snow on thru lovelights. Really enjoyed Throwing stones.

I had hoped they would play Shakedown (Yea!!), as they didn't play it during their Summer Red Rocks run. Second set was lots of fun until Mr Fantasy/Hey Jude. Sorry, this is filler. There are too many tunes in their repertoire to not have to sing Fantasy or Jude. Lame. One more Saturday nite, while expected (cause it's Saturday) was fun, and maybe should have been the encore. But instead its an Attics encore. While I like Attics, and thought the vocal harmonies were nice. I had to check my pulse after the end of the song. I struggle with bands ending shows on slow tempo'd song. But maybe that's what the boys are all about. Heart stopping show closers. ;P

I'm giving this show 4 stars, because these guys are still my favorite band, and I think this lineup is still better than most of the post-Jerry incarnations. There are some gems in the show, no doubt, just a weak setlist, IMO.

Subject: Real Rocker
Was at this show and while I missed the first night i agree completely with the recorders comments. This show rocked from start to finish. 2d set in fact surprised me. After such a rockin 1st set I was anticipating a much more spacey set 2 but when they opened with Shakedown/Viola Lee (really bluesy) i knew we were in for something special. We were seated in 6th row in section 115 and I thought the sound was great throughout. Crowd around us was way into the show and basically everyone was standin/danicin all night. Didnt know Seven Hills of Gold but enjoyed it and thought Bobbie was really energized and focused during entire show. Attics was perfect encore. Cant wait for tonights show and will try to find u on floor and say helo and thanks for recording and posting so fast. I rate the show 5 stars based off of what i heard in person. have not had chance to listen to your full recording yet but unless that screamer u talk about is really bad its gotta be a 5 star recording also.
